Stock Solution Mixing Instructions:

One liter of RO/DI + 0.1 kg (100 g) of Calcium Chloride will create a stock solution with a calcium concentration of 100 g/L.

  1. Fill a one-liter container half full of RO/DI or distilled water
  2. Add 0.1 kg (100 grams) of Calcium Chloride to the container with water.
  3. Top off to the 1-liter mark and secure the cap.
  4. Shake the solution vigorously and allow it to dissolve for 24 hours altogether.
Tip: To ensure all calcium chloride dissolves, raise the water temperature to 77°F (25°C) and mix for 24 hours.

Note: As an alternative, add three tablespoons of Magnesium Chloride to help maintain magnesium levels.

Dosing Instructions:

1 mL of Calcium Chloride stock solution will raise calcium by approximately 10 ppm in 1 USG. Increasing calcium by more than 50 ppm per day is not recommended.

Tip: If you have issues raising your calcium levels, ensure your aquarium magnesium level is between 1200 and 1350 ppm.
